Maptoolkit Connector
The Maptoolkit Connector fetches data from servers that Maptoolkit customers connect to their Data Connector - for example a search index, a database API, or a government open-data portal. If you see requests from this bot in your server logs, this page explains what it does and how to reach us.
How to identify this bot
The bot identifies itself with this User-Agent header on every request:
MaptoolkitConnector/x.y.z (+https://docs.maptoolkit.com/connector)x.y.z is the current version of the Data Connector service. If a request claims to be MaptoolkitConnector but does not come from an IP address you can verify as ours, contact us using the information below.
What this bot does
- It fetches data for one specific data source that a Maptoolkit customer configured - for example one Elasticsearch index, one GeoJSON endpoint, or one open-data catalog.
- It requests only that configured endpoint. It does not crawl your site or follow links to discover other pages.
- It runs on a schedule the customer controls (the connector’s reload interval), not continuously.
- It only reads data. It does not submit forms or write any data to your server.
Blocking or rate-limiting this bot
This bot does not currently read robots.txt. If it causes load on your server, or you want us to stop, slow down, or change how we access it, contact us directly - we can adjust the connector’s configuration on our side.
